Questions & Answers
Total: 13Question Date Asked Answer Date Answered 1) What is the scale of the drawing included with the bid documents? If not to scale, what are the measurements between each speaker and subwoofer as this information is a determining factor for the specific type of materials needed for the project. 9/8/2025 5:41:57 PM An addendum is forthcoming for all questions listed below. 9/9/2025 7:41:36 AM 2) Wil the main rack be placed in within a conditioned environment? If not, can the bid documents be revised to reflect the requirement for a self-evaporating condenser coil air cooling unit in order for the equipment to maintain temperature levels within manufacturer’s guidelines without the city being subject to manufacturer scrutiny over installation of material inconsistent with manufacturer guidelines?
9/8/2025 5:42:04 PM Can the city define, for the purposes of the specification for surge protection in 2.01-3-C, what is considered outdoor equipment? Is that equipment that is plugged into a 120V electrical outlet outdoors? Does that also included low voltage equipment not plugged into an outlet? Is there a more detailed specification or requirement for surge protection? 9/8/2025 5:42:16 PM Is there a basis for this system specification or proof of concept documentation the city can release that is the basis for this IFB? 9/8/2025 5:42:24 PM Why is burial cable a requirement and not flooded cable or aqua seal cable when the city is providing a conduit/raceway system for the cable to be installed within, flooded cable is typical and appropriate for use with this application in commercial projects or was the cable type in the bid documents intended to be flooded type and was incorrectly described as burial? 9/8/2025 5:42:32 PM Can the city provide a proof-of-concept reference document or provide information establishing the design basis for the bollard speakers as there are many types of bollards with widely varying sizes and corresponding price points and varying means of performance when propagating sound. The award basis is the lowest respondent which favors a respondent whom may utilize the smallest of bollards as their speaker basis, use of directional bollards which are more affordable than multi directional bollards, etc. 9/8/2025 5:42:39 PM Is there existing electrical, in the way of a duplex 110V outlet at the proposed main rack location? 9/8/2025 5:42:52 PM Is there an existing data/ LAN connection to the city’s network at the proposed main rack equipment location 9/8/2025 5:43:05 PM In reference to 2.01-2-B; What type of “hardline” input is required, is the hardline to be a balanced audio or unbalanced audio connection? What type of connector is needed? Also, where and how would the city like this connection? Inside, outside? By Flying lead cable at track? 1RU rack panel input? Wall outlet? Surface mounted outlet box on post? 9/8/2025 5:43:21 PM Is there site plan documentation in .dwg format that can be provided to the awarded respondent so proper scale engineering documents and shop drawings can be produced for use with a formal submittal package, or is a submittal package not a requirement for the city and the expectations of the city is for the awarded contractor move immediately to their procurement process once NTP is given?
9/8/2025 5:43:30 PM How long after bidding closes does the city estimate will the award notice be issued? And how long after award, does the city estimate, a notice to proceed be issued? 9/8/2025 5:43:38 PM For the equipment rack, what is the city’s expectations for the type of rack? Open floor rack? Open floor rack on caster base? Floor rack with side panels and locking front and rear doors? Open frame wall rack, Solid frame wall rack, etc. 9/8/2025 5:43:54 PM What is the budget for this project? 9/8/2025 5:44:05 PM Commodity Codes
