Project Description

The City of Mt. Vernon is seeking bids for the City Wide Pavement Marking Project for 2026–2027. The project consists of repainting approximately 77,898 lineal feet of 4-inch pavement markings throughout the City to maintain roadway visibility and safety.

• Bid Opening: Immediately following the deadline at City Hall, Room 100

Submission Requirements

• Sealed bids must be clearly marked on the outside of the envelope:
  "City Wide Pavement Marking Project 2026-2027"
• Deliver to:
  City of Mt. Vernon - City Clerk's Office
  1100 Main Street
  Mt. Vernon, IL 62864
• Include all required forms and documentation. Incomplete submissions may be rejected.

General Terms

• The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or any part thereof.
• All contracts for the construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12).
• The successful bidder shall comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and must be an equal opportunity employer.

Advertisement for Bids

Sealed bids will be received by the City Clerk of Mt. Vernon, City Hall, Room 100, 1100

Main, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864, until 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 15, 2026. Bids will be

publicly opened and read aloud. Bid packets/Specifications may be obtained from the

Mt. Vernon City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, Room 100, 1100 Main, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.

The City Reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids, and may accept that which is

most advantageous to the City of Mt. Vernon. The successful bidder shall be an equal

opportunity employer. Envelopes containing bid shall be plainly marked on the outside

specifying project “CITY WIDE PAVEMENT MARKING PROJECT 2026-27”. Project

consists of Repainting 77,898 lineal feet of 4” pavement markings in the City of Mt.
