RFQ - General Contractors - Letter of Interest Request and Prequalification to Bid - Construction Project Public Works and Dispatch FacilityThe VILLAGE OF OAK LAWN (“Village”) announces a Request for Qualifications – General Contractors and Letter of Interest Request and Prequalification to Bid – Construction (“RFQ”) of a new Village Public Works Facility and Dispatch Center. Complete general contracting services only are sought. Subcontractors or suppliers interested in providing services for materials or materials for portions of the work will not be considered at this time.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
This is a new construction project on an existing site. The proposed project consists of constructing a new 69,000-square-foot building comprising public works and dispatch administrative areas, a public works garage, and a maintenance area. The project also includes demolishing existing buildings and reconfiguring the site to accommodate the new work. Some existing buildings, cell towers, and associated utilities must remain. Extensive stormwater improvements are necessary as part of the proposed project. The project construction budget is approximately $18 Million.The purpose of prequalifying general contractors is to ensure that appropriate standards of collaboration, ability, experience, performance, and financial integrity will be met. Potential general contractors will be comparatively judged based on, but not limited to, economic criteria, personnel organization, personnel experience, completion of work similar in scope and performance, participation in reduction of change orders, and quality of work previously completed, as further detailed in the RFQ.
