Space Needs Assessment RILEY COUNTY, KANSAS
The Riley County Board of Commission is seeking professional services of a qualified and experienced consulting firm for a space needs assessment of the Health Department, including the Family & Child Resource Center (FCRC). This study will involve working with County staff and decision makers to identify needs and develop options for the identified needs. The successful firm will complete the evaluation/programming, determine current and future space needs, and compare with available buildings, including consideration of combining the department into one building.
The project will consist of a space needs assessment (for existing and future needs) for Health Department, including the Family & Child Resource Center (FCRC). The Primary study will evaluate needs for each program offered by the department:

Riley County anticipates the space needs assessment will, at a minimum, consist of:
- Meet with staff to gain understanding of specific department needs.
- Review staffing levels, now and in the future, and assess workspace based on existing standards.
- Evaluate equipment, material, and operational storage (short and long term).
- Evaluate collaborative space needs.
Information from the Space Needs Assessment will generate recommendations of facility needs. At a minimum, recommendations should address the following elements:
- Determine the ability of the existing buildings to meet the programmatic and operational space requirements. Including parking needs.
- Develop preliminary schematic layouts that provide solutions to address deficiencies.
- Develop cost estimates for each proposed solution.
- Develop a plan on how to handle unused buildings and properties.
- Evaluate upgrading of current facilities with an effort to combine services into one building.

Business Hours: M-TH 7:30a.m.-5:00p.m. Qualifications: Any individual(s) or firm(s) proposing to perform architect/engineering services, environmental services, preconstruction and construction services must be appropriately licensed/registered in the State of Kansas at the time of submittal of qualifications. Special Requirements: Three (3) bound copies and one digital copy of the qualification package shall be submitted. The covers should include the title “Riley County Space Needs Assessment”, date of submission, name of the firm, and the firm’s contact person with phone number and address. The contact person shall be an authorized representative of the firm. A transmittal letter, signed by the contact person, should accompany the proposal.
