TOWN OF HARTFORD, VERMONT

MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE BID

The Town of Hartford is requesting bids for Magnesium Chloride delivered to our bulk

storage tank at the Department of Public Works Facility, 173 Airport Road, White River

Junction, VT 05001. This bid is for a two-year period from July 1, 2026, through June 30,

2028.

Scope of Service:

The contract will include delivery of up to 4,000 gallons of bulk Magnesium Chloride per

delivery to the DPW facility’s 5,500-gallon storage tank. We estimate our annual usage

to be 30,000 gallons or total contract usage of 60,000 gallons.

Basis of Award:

The contract shall be awarded to a responsible and responsive bidder as determined by

the Town and review will include the following considerations:

• Ability to perform successfully under the terms of the scope of services

• Prior experience and past record of performance

• Availability of workforce and equipment

• Financial and technical resources

• Compliance with public policy

• Any other criteria considered relevant by the Town

Insurance:

The contractor must maintain and provide proof of Workers Compensation,

Comprehensive General Liability Insurance, Automobile Liability and Property Damage

Insurance in the amounts of $2,000,000 aggregate, $1,000,000 per occurrence. The Town

of Hartford is to be named as certificate holder. The contractor agrees to hold harmless,

indemnify, and defend the Town of Hartford for all liability arising out of this contract,

except that arising out of the sole negligence of the Town of Hartford.

Instructions:

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly labeled “2026-2028 Magnesium

Chloride Bid” and will be received at the Town of Hartford, Town Managers Office, 171

Bridge Street, 2nd Floor, White River Junction, Vermont 05001, no later than 11:00am

Friday, July 3, 2026. Bids received after the noted time and date will not be accepted.

Faxed or emailed bids will not be accepted.

Rejection of Bids:

The Town of Hartford reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to award contracts in

whole or in part if it is deemed in the best interest of the Town.

Revision to the Request of Bids:

The Town of Hartford reserves the right to modify any technical and submission

requirements associated with this bid and the scope of work.

Limitations of Liability

The Town of Hartford assumes no responsibility and no liability for costs incurred by the

bidder in responding to the Request For Bid or in responding to any further request for

interviews, additional data, etc. prior to issuance of a contract.
