Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) is seeking sealed proposals from experienced and qualified Offerors/Proposers to provide Private Duty Nursing (PDN) Services for CCPS students with documented health issues requiring health services to enable a child with a disability to receive a free appropriate public education (FAPE) as described in the child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). These students require constant monitoring by a registered nurse (RN), or a licensed practical nurse (LPN) as related to services under the IDEA.

This solicitation is an attempt to qualify multiple licensed nursing agencies and/or individual nurses to provide private duty nursing services for the care of medically fragile students during the school day. These services support a student while they are accessing their education to ensure their health and safety during instruction and service time.

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA or Act), 84 Stat. 175, as amended, 20 U. S. C. §1400 et seq., requires states receiving federal funding to make a “free appropriate public education” (FAPE) available to all children with disabilities residing in the State, §1412 (a) (1) (A).

The resulting contract shall be valid for one (1) year with an option to renew for four (4) additional one (1) year periods.
