PROJECT DESCRIPTION: City of Foster City is looking to install the following on the City’s Lagoon Pump House, which is the sole pump station for the Foster City Lagoon:
- Remove two existing, decommissioned pumps and engines.
- Install two (2) Cascade model 66-AM pumps or similar, each capable of conveying 125,000 GPM with formed suction intakes. Construct supporting improvements such as right-angle gear drives, engines, and engine appurtenances.
- Construct stop log isolation systems at the wetwell intake for each pump bay.
- Replace all flap gates on exterior of station (8 – 84”x84” and 4-60” diameter).
- Refurbish 8 weir gates and replace electric actuators
- Replace existing trash rack system for each pump bay and include a mechanism for rack removal and cleaning.
- Inspect wetwell and aftbay concrete during initial phases of construction and construct necessary repairs during later phases of construction.
- Replace both north (bay) and south (lagoon) side walkways.
- Install four (4) approximately 11-foot by 11-foot access openings in the existing roof structure to facilitate pump replacement. Finish the access holes with removable louvered penthouses. Two access openings are intended for the current project while the other two are intended to facilitate future replacement of the existing duty pumps.
- Perform seismic retrofits of varying thickness shotcrete overlays on exterior of building.
- Replace existing roof waterproofing system.
- Remove old and add various electrical components.
COMPLETION: 300 Calendar Days
CONSTRUCTION COST ESTIMATE:$14,000,000 - $15,000,000
LICENSE REQUIRED: GENERAL CONTRACTORS; CLASS ‘A’

Pre-Qualification packages shall be emailed to the Ryan Marquez, Senior Civil Engineer, at: rmarquez@fostercity.org before or at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday June 18, 2026.
After Pre-Qualification package submission, all packages will be reviewed and approved pre-qualified bidders will be notified via email, and a list will be posted to the RFQ webpage.
