REQUEST FOR FORMAL WRITTEN PROPOSALS FOR PAD MOUNTED SWITCH GEAR - FRONT SUBSTATION REPLACEMENTS
The City of Saint Peter, Department of Public Works, Electric Utility is requesting formal written proposals for the following equipment:
- Two (2) Pad Mounted Switch Gear – Elbow Connected (PME). Bay Configuration shall be two switched and two fused (PME-9).
Specifications: pad-mounted manually operated switchgear of a single self-supporting enclosure. The pad-mounted gear shall be rated 14.4 kV nominal 95kV BIL, 600A continuous, with short circuit ratings of 14,000 Amperes Symmetrical. The switchgear shall consist of air insulated 600A load break 3-pole interrupter switches equipped with 600A bushings and viewing windows for visual verification of switch position, 1-pole power fuse mounting equipped with 200A bushing wells and viewing windows for visual verification of fuse indicators. Fuse mountings shall include Fuse Unit End-Fittings for use with S&C SMU-20 fuse units.
Pad-mounted gear shall conform to ANSI C57.12.28 for enclosure integrity. The pad-mounted gear enclosure shall be welded with an 11-gauge steel construction to maximize strength. Each door or set of double doors shall be equipped with an automatic three-point latching mechanism. The finish shall be olive green, Munsell 7GY3.29/1.5 and shall pass 4000 hours of exposure to salt-spray testing per ASTM-B 117. Proposal on company letterhead must include the following information: cost per switch; total cost, freight, and expected arrival date in Saint Peter. No Friday, Saturday, Sunday deliveries and 48-hour notice prior. The City of Saint Peter is tax exempt.
