The Department of Minnesota IT Services (MNIT), partnering with the Department of Human Services (DHS), intend to enter into an agreement for up to 24 months with Health Financial Systems (HFS) for continued, uninterrupted use of HFS Medicare Cost Reporting maintenance and support.

HFS Medicare Cost Reporting system allows DHS to run, review, and edit Medicare filed cost reports for hospitals and rural health clinics. HFS retains exclusive ownership, copyrights, trademark of their proprietary maintenance and support services. The State believes these services are not available through third-party entities deeming this a sole source purchase.
