New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is seeking a Consultant Team to provide Engineering, Design and Related Consulting Services for the Fifth Avenue Corridor Public Realm Project. The Fifth Avenue Corridor Public Realm project spans approximately 21 blocks from 40th St to 61st St and will prioritize pedestrians with wider sidewalks as well as safe and secure pedestrian crossings. Project components include: (1) demolition of the existing roadway, streetscape and utilities; (2) new utility mains and house connections; (3) licensing or infill of all below grade sidewalk vaults; (4) reconstruction of the roadway with a central dedicated bus lane, a western curb lane for bus passenger pickup/drop-off and right turns, and an eastern lane designated for general vehicle traffic; (5) narrowed crosswalks; (6) a cohesive streetscape palette including special pavements, new street trees, seating, lighting and plantings; (7) traffic signal poles, enforcements cameras and regulatory signage.
Informational Session
NYCEDC plans to select a consultant on the basis of factors stated in the RFP which include, but are not limited to: the quality of the proposal, experience of key staff identified in the proposal, experience and quality of any subcontractors proposed, demonstrated successful experience in performing services similar to those encompassed in the RFP.An optional virtual pre-proposal informational session will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025 at 2 P.M.. InquiriesRespondents may submit questions and/or request clarifications from NYCEDC no later than 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Questions regarding the subject matter of this RFP should be directed to the Q&A form, found by clicking here . Answers to all questions will be posted by Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Questions regarding the subject matter of this RFP will not be accepted after 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, however, technical questions pertaining to downloading and submitting proposals to this RFP may be directed to rfprequest@edc.nyc or before Thursday, August 7, 2025.
