Overview
Summary

The City of New Smyrna Beach is accepting Letters of Interest and Statements of Qualifications from interested and qualified firms and/or individuals that are interested in providing Professional Archaeological Consultant services to the City of New Smyrna Beach. In order to be considered for award and to be further evaluated, proposer must be a registered professional within the State of Florida and have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the requested area of practice.

The intent of this solicitation is to establish a pool of firms or individuals to perform salvage excavation as the City Archaeologist. The City Archaeologist is defined in the Land Development Regulations (LDR) as the person/firm who shall meet the city's requirements and the standards for membership by the register of professional archaeologists and shall have a demonstrated background in historic and prehistoric archaeology.

It is anticipated that a minimum of three (3) individuals or firms may be selected for a contract. The city makes no covenant or promise as to the number of available projects or that the firm(s) will perform any project for the city during the life of the contract. The successful proposer(s) will hereinafter be referred to as “Professional Consultant”.

During this period, the City shall reserve the right to seek qualifications and/or proposals from other individuals or firms for specialized projects, as deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
