Ballfields will be brought up to standard for safety, playability,and drainage. Additional Alternate sites noted (Infield elevation maintenance, 6 fields).BASE BID – Full infield renovation1. PINEY WOOD PARK400 Woodcroft Pkwy Ballfield 1CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONSInterested bidders shall be deemed experienced by providing at least ONE of the following:1. American Sports Builder Field Builder Certification (CFB) held by prime Contractor.2. References and Owner contact information for a minimum of THREE completed INFIELDRENOVATIONS since 2020 with DuraEdge infield fill material. New builds do not constituteinfield renovation.CONTRACTINGWork will be contracted through a City of Durham Purchase Contract.CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULEOnce contract is fully executed by both parties, a Pre-Construction meeting will be held on site. This policy applies to construction contracting.The City’s Finance Department has reviewed this proposed project and established Underutilized BusinessEnterprise (UBE) participation goals:Minority Business Enterprise (MUBE) 0%Woman Business Enterprise (WUBE) 0%OWNER’S RESPONSIBILITIESThe Contractor may rely upon the Owner to:• Provide access to City property and park areas as necessary,• Review material submittals in a timely fashion,• Hold a Pre-Construction on site with Contractor to determine staging areas and access points,• Provide signage for park users regarding the maintenance closure,• Inspection of work, communicate punch list, and process payments.PROJECT CONDITIONS1. Field Verify: Contractor shall field verify all measurements at start of contract to verify Owner-provided material estimates.2. Site Preparation: Contractor to provide whatever means necessary to protect all existing featuresscheduled to remain within the project area including existing structures, light poles, undergroundconduit/wires, irrigation, walkways and drives, guard rails, gates, signage, grass, trees, and vegetation,parking lots, and driveways. Damage will be repaired or replaced at the Contractor’s expense. It isthe Contractor’s responsibility to document existing conditions in the event of a damage claim by thefacility users or the Owner.3. Pre-Construction Meeting: Contractor and Owner’s Representatives shall meet at each project siteand review Scope of Work, construction logistics, staging areas, and identify any foreseeable concernsprior to mobilizing.4. Material storage: Contractor to stage materials on site in agreed upon designated areas. Loosematerials must be stored on a protective surface to eliminate long lasting impact to site. Parkdriveways and lots must remain open for general park use.5. Utilities: Contractor to provide where necessary to accomplish complete Scope of Work.6. Cleaning up: All debris shall be cleaned from work areas, parking lots, and driveways throughoutproject duration. Materials to be staged neatly. At project completion, all equipment ruts to beraked/graded smooth and treated with Bermuda seed and straw (outside of ballfield) and top dress5
