Overview

Summary

Miami Fire District #1 provides Fire, rescue and EMS response service to appox. 400 square miles of unincorporated Miami County. MIFD#1 contacts with the Cities of Linn Valley, Louisburg, Osawatomie and Paola for services. The Wellsville Fire District provides service to the NW portion of the county. MIFD#1 operates the station located in Fontana KS. The fire departments that serve Miami County are all volunteer and respond to 1300 calls per year.

The Miami County Sheriff's Office Communications Division will be using a new CAD/RMS/JMS system from Central Square in late April of 2025. This will allow emergency service vehicles to use MDT's

Background

Use of the MDT will provide accurate routing to incidents for responders. Detailed maps including fire hydrants, address points, hazard information will be provided to responders without human intervention. This should assist in reducing response times and provide valuable information to responders.
