Overview
Summit County Government (“County”) is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to provide services for the following: To operate a behavioral health crisis facility licensed as a walk-in center or crisis stabilization unit that provides the following required services:
- Screening and assessment treatment and support needs of individuals and families in mental health or substance use crisis
- Behavioral health crisis counseling and support services
- Initiation and resolution of mental health holds
- Initiation and resolution of emergency substance use commitments as permitted by BHA licensing
- Facilitating communications with secure facilities, including arranging for or providing medical and clinical screening required for admission
- Providing a safe place for people to wait for transportation to a higher level of care
- Direct provision and/or linkage to outpatient or residential withdrawal management services including initiation of medications for treatment of substance use disorders
- Coordinating access to services and resources that might prevent a crisis such as

- Assisting individuals in scheduling appointments for urgent needs
- Screening for potential to benefit from medications for treatment of substance use disorder and connecting individuals with on-demand providers,
- Arranging for urgent prescriber appointments or emergency psychotropic medication evaluation or renewal
- Providing flexible funds for emergency housing or transportation
- Coordinating with community crisis partners including mobile crisis, crisis stabilization, co-responders, schools, hospital, substance use treatment, and comprehensive safety net providers
