Based ondiagnostic assessment, full replacement is required to restore proper cooling, ventilation, andheating to the space. The scope of work includes design for the new replacement units andassociated equipment, all necessary mechanical, electrical, and controls work to ensurecomplete and functional system integration. This may also include ductwork design, structural, and drain design. The selected engineering must carry all engineering services under theircontract. This project was previously bid by the City for construction. The intent was to replace the unitswith the same models. After bidding, the mechanical contractors advised that the existing model isno longer allowed in California due to its refrigerants not meeting the current requirements. Thenew equivalent model has a larger footprint, less heating capacity, installation requires extensivereconstruction of the concrete pad, and utility relocation. The selected engineering firm mustprovide a turnkey design.RFP SCHEDULE (Subject to change)TaskIssue RFPOptional Bid Job Walk*Deadline to Submit QuestionsIssuance of Clarifications (if needed)Proposal DueAwardExecute ContractKick-off Meeting/Site VisitDesign CompletionSubmit for Permit ReviewAdvertise For ConstructionApproximate DatesJanuary 8, 2026January 12, 2026 at 11:30amJanuary 15, 2026 by 5:00January 21, 2026January 26, 2026 by 5:00February 12, 2026February 26, 20261st Week of March 2026April 2026TBDMay 2026*Please email or call Saul Flores if you plan to attend the Bid Job Walk.SCOPE OF WORKThe City has developed a general scope of services section identifying the minimum tasksthat the City believes needs to be performed by the design consultant.
