PUBLIC NOTICE

SUMMIT COUNTY GOVERNMENT

INVITATION TO BID

‘OLD SAND BARN' DEMOLITION AT COUNTY COMMONS

Summit County Government (“County”) is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to provide services for the following: Demolition and disposal of an existing metal building and its foundation - located in Frisco, Colorado. The Project includes the following general items of work:

• Removal of the existing Sand Storage metal building, concrete slab floor and concrete foundation on site. Disposal shall be in accordance with local Designated Disposal Site (DDS) regulations.

Bids for the construction of the Project will be received electronically with the following text in the subject line: “’Old Sand Barn’ Demolition at County Commons” and must be emailed to daniel.gietzen@summitcountyco.gov until Wednesday May 27, 2026, at 2.00 PM local time. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 12pm MST, Thursday May 28, 2026.

The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder who best meets the requirements of the project specifications, Summit County and the public interest.

All bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond guarantee in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base proposal bid.

Bidding Documents may be downloaded from the designated website. The designated website will be updated periodically with addenda, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the designated website. Owner will not be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website.

A pre-bid site meeting will be held on Thursday May 14, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. MST/MDT. Meet in 2 ^nd floor lobby in the County Commons Building at 0037 Peak One Drive. We will drive to the project site from there.

The Summit County Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities or informalities, and to conduct such investigations or negotiations as it deems necessary to select the most responsible and responsive bid.

Project Description – ‘Old Sand Barn’ Demolition, County Commons

(4-16-26)

The Work consists of the complete demolition and offsite disposal of an existing sand

storage structure and associated concrete foundation located at the County Commons

campus, in Frisco Colorado.

The structure was constructed in the mid-1990s and is approximately 60 feet by 122

feet (7,320 SF).

Work shall include, but is not limited to:

• Demolition and removal of the entire building structure.

• Demolition and removal of all concrete foundations, slabs, and above-grade

concrete walls.

• Loading, hauling, and legal disposal of all materials offsite. Disposal to comply

with County Designated Disposal Site (DDS) requirements.

• Site grading and restoration to match adjacent existing grades. Summit County

Government will provide the recycled asphalt milling material for this.

• Dust control, traffic control, and site safety measures.

Existing Conditions

• Limited record drawings are available for the foundation.

• Concrete slab thickness averages approximately 10 inches, based on field test

drillings

• Reinforcement is assumed but not confirmed

• Structure has no active utilities and is considered a dry facility

Schedule

• Work shall be completed within 30 calendar days from Notice to Proceed

• All work must be completed no later than September 1, 2026

Pre-Bid Meeting

A pre-bid meeting and site visit will be held:

• Date: May 7

• Time: 11:00 AM MST

• Meeting location: Meet in 2nd floor lobby in County Commons Building. Will

drive to project site from there.

Attendance of the pre-bid meeting is optional but strongly encouraged.
