Proposals will be received by the Parks Department at the specified location until the time and

date cited above. Only proposals received by the correct time and date will be recorded.

Proposals must be submitted in an envelope with the Request for Proposals number and the

Vendor's name and address clearly indicated on the envelope. All proposals must be completed

in ink or typewritten and submitted by the time and date above.

Consultants are strongly encouraged to carefully read the entire Request for Proposals.

at the Joplin Athletic Complex located at 3301 West 1st Street, Joplin, Missouri 64801 to

PURCHASE the following:

Outdoor Fitness Equipment

Specifications and bid forms are available from Greg Bertoncino or Paul Bloomberg, by

calling 417-625-4750 EXT 1506 or by writing to the address indicated above. Any bids received

after the specified deadline will be returned to the vendor.

The City reserves the right to evaluate all bids, to reject any or all bids and re-bid at a later date.

The City may waive any irregularities in the bid or negotiate variances from specifications and

make awards that are in the best interests of the City. The City will make final decision in all

matters regarding acceptance of bids and issuance of awards.

The City ofJoplin hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract

entered into pursuant to this advertisement, individuals will be afforded full opportunity to

submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of

race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry or national origin in consideration for an award.

Federal Land and Water Conservation Funds are being used in this project, and all relevant

federal, state, and local requirements apply.

Scope of Work

The City of Joplin, Missouri is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to purchase

commercial grade 5 (Five) Outdoor Fitness Stations with 1 (One) being ADA compliant for

Parr Hill Park renovation project. All Fitness stations and Activity panels shall be surface

mounted. The fitness stations will be situated along the park's trail system to provide

exercise for individuals at different skill levels. Each fitness station will have a Roof Covered

descriptive "Activity Panel" of detail information of various exercises. The five fitness

stations are listed below.

SUBMITTED AS EQUIVALENT PER SPECS)

The process for determining approved alternates is as follows:

A) Submittal must include Manufacturer's contact information, specifications and warranty

information. Complete list of equipment and a narrative of how alternate(s) provides the

same or exceeds the level of service.

A. Fitness Station (1) Includes: Hip Lift & Thigh, Push-Up Exercises, and Wobble Board

exercises with 3-activity panel describing various exercises.

B. Fitness Station (2) Includes: Stair Exercises, Overhead Press Exercises, and Standing

Stretches & Yoga Exercises with 3-activity Panel describing various exercises.

C. Fitness Station (3) Includes: Upper body Cycling exercises, Squat and Triceps Strength &

Torso Stability exercises with a 3-activity panel describing various exercises.

D. Fitness Station (4) Includes: Inverted Row & Core Exercises, Weighted Squat Exercises,

and Shoulder Stability & Strength Exercises with a 3-activity panel describing various

exercises.

E. Fitness Station (5) Includes: PNF & Leg Extension Exercises (ADA), Triceps Strength &

Torso Stability Exercises (ADA), and Upper-Body Cycling Exercises (ADA). (All

Technical Documents, Drawings and instructions for each station shall be included with 3

accessible activity panels describing various exercises.

3. All Technical Documents, Drawing and Instructions to be included for each fitness station and

4. Fitness Stations and Activity Panels surface mounted preferred.

5. All bids will be reviewed and evaluated. Lowest Total Bid Price will be awarded if all

requirements and specifications are met.
