Description

ADVERTISEMENT FOR PREQUALIFICATION AND BIDS

PRE-QUALIFICATION PROPOSALS in two (2) hard copies and one (1) digital copy on USB flash drive will be received by the Ownerat the Dothan City General Services Building at 288 Complex Drive, Dothan, AL 36303, for the below mentioned project, until 4:00PM Central Time, Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

Bid# 25-070: Wiregrass Community Center

The project involves the new construction of a 19,000-square-foot community center featuring a large auditorium room with supporting spaces. The structure will utilize a concrete slab-on-grade with steel framing and CFMF studs. Exterior finishes include a PVC membrane roof, brick veneer, metal wall panels, and a cast stone veneer with aluminum storefront. Special construction includes glued-laminated columns. Systems include packaged rooftop units, mini-split units, a grease trap and wet-pipe fire suppression, while specialty equipment includes catering kitchen appliances, A/V equipment, operable partitions, and motorized window shades. The project requires coordination with owner-supplied furnishings and utilities, including full underground infrastructure and maintaining existing services. Site work will include grading, landscaping, paving, sidewalks, and lighting.

Sealed bid proposals including additive alternates and unit prices will be received from pre-approved General Contractors by The City of Dothan, at the City Commission Chambers, located at 126 N Saint Andrews St, Dothan, AL 36301 until 2:00 PM CST, Tuesday,

November 18, 2025, at which time and place the bid proposals will be publicly opened and read.

Only General Contractors who have completed the pre-qualification process within the stated time limits, and which are properly licensed in accordance with criteria established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors under the Provision of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended, will be considered for pre-qualification for the Work of this project. The pre-qualification procedure is intended to identify responsible and competent bidders relative to the requirements of the Project. The Owner reserves the right to waive technical errors in applications or abandon the pre-qualification process.

Pre-qualification proposal package requirements may be obtained from Seay, Seay, and Litchfield, P.C., 2431 West Main Street, Suite 101, Dothan, AL 36301 by written (electronic or hardcopy) request on the Contractor's company letterhead. Electronic requests for pre-qualification proposal package requirements should be submitted to Tony Coleman @ tcoleman@sslarch.com . General Contractors will be notified of pre-qualification to bid on or before Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at which time plans will be available for distribution per above requirements.

A MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held onsite at 2012 Ennis Road (adjacent to Wiregrass Safety Center) at 10:00 am CST, on Thursday, October 30, 2025 for the purpose of reviewing the project and answering Bidder’s questions.Attendance at the Pre-Bid conference is MANDATORY for all PREQUALIFIED GENERAL CONTRACTORS intending to bid the work; subcontractors are strongly encouraged to attend.

Additional qualifications and requirements for General Contractor Bidders are indicated in the Bid and Contract Documents.

The City of Dothan reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive technical errors and/or abandon the bid process if, in their judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.

All questions, comments and requests for clarifications or additional information shall be submitted in writing to Project Architect Tony Coleman, AIA, at Seay, Seay, and Litchfield, P.C. Any and all comments, questions and requests for clarifications must be received no later than 5:00 PM CST Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
