Project Name Young Hall 5th Floor Lab Renovation (Rooms 5073, 5076, 5077, 5085, 5086, 5090, 5096) Project Number 940026.01 Project Description Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a lump sum contract from prequalified bidders are invited for the following work:
The University proposes to renovate Laboratory Rooms 5073, 5076, 5077, 5085, 5086, 5090, and 5096, totaling 4,672 gsf (3,800 asf), on the fifth floor of the east wing of Young Hall, to create newly renovated lab space. The scope of work includes the installation of 21 new fume hoods; the provision of new flooring, wall finishes, research lab benches, chemical storage units, solvent purification systems, and lab casework, furniture, and equipment; and modifications to the building’s mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems to support the program, including new mechanical fan coil units, ductwork, and modifications to the lighting and controls, fire sprinkler, and fire alarm systems. Required building upgrades related to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility includes alterations to corridor restrooms and drinking fountains along the path of travel associated with the project area. New fume hoods and laboratory casework as listed in Exhibits 21 and 22 will be furnished by the University and installed by Contractor. Contractor shall execute Assignment of Materials or Equipment Agreements for fume hoods and laboratory casework as listed in Exhibits 21 and 22 at time of award.
