Description: NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Pleasant Hill will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on the 11 th day of August 2026, in the City Council Chambers, 5160 Maple Drive, Pleasant Hill, Iowa, to consider a proposal for the City to vacate a small portion of the NE 12 th Avenue right-of-way in the 5100 block and legally described as follows: A RECTANGULAR PORTION OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 34, TOWNSHIP 79 NORTH, RANGE 23 WEST OF THE 5TH P.M., PLEASANT HILL, POLK COUNTY, IOWA, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS: COMMENCING AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SAID SECTION 34; THENCE N00°08'27"E ALONG THE EAST LINE OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SAID SECTION 34, A DISTANCE OF 33.00 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE N89°09'21"W, A DISTANCE OF 30.00 FEET; THENCE N00°08'27"E, A DISTANCE OF 27.00 FEET; THENCE S89°09'21"E, A DISTANCE OF 30.00 FEET TO THE EAST LINE OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SAID SECTION 34; THENCE S00°08'27"W ALONG THE EAST LINE OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SAID SECTION 34, A DISTANCE OF 27.00 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING. CONTAINING 810.00 SQUARE FEET. Comments from citizens will be heard at the hearing.
