Qualifications are due no later than 4:00 pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 , through the Procurement Portal.
Greenville County Schools is soliciting full service architectural and engineering design services for a new middle school campus to replace the existing Bryson Middle School. The site is located in southern Greenville County at 905 Fairview Road. This new site includes approximately 75 Acres.
The intent is to award an Architectural firm a contract in June of 2025. Construction is targeted to start in April of 2026 and be substantially complete by June of 2028 so that the school facility can open for students in August of 2028.
Construction of the new building will be accomplished via the Construction Manager at Risk delivery method with a CM@R firm engaged during or after schematic level drawings.
A prototype design and the corresponding program has been provided for information purposes. The design process will include a site adaptation effort and confirmation of the Program with the Director of Planning and Demographics. The design will include approximately 160,000 SF (+/-) to provide adequate learning spaces for approximately 1,000 6th grade through 8th grade students and a core capable of supporting as many as 1,200 in future. Additional to the prototype design, Bryson Middle School will also include a dance studio suite (1,650 SF +/-). The design for this space will be coordinated with the Director of Performing Arts. The site will include circulation, parking and a full complement of middle school athletic facilities -- track (with soccer field interior), baseball, softball and tennis. The design aesthetic will be adapted to live in harmony with the surrounding community, and should in some manner communicate the heritage of Bryson Middle School.
GCS maintains a written design guide for its facilities and expects that the facility will be designed in accordance with all applicable codes and the guide while taking into consideration the unique educational nature of the facility and best practices for sustainability.
