Description: REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS (RFQ) FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT The City of Newton, Iowa, is seeking competitive quotations for the construction of the public improvement hereafter described.  Contractors qualified to perform the work and able to obtain the required performance bond are invited to submit competitive quotations. 1.     Description of the Public Improvement Work to be Performed.  The public improvement work for which the city if seeking competitive quotations is generally described as follows: 2025-01 SUB-DRAIN COLLECTOR LINE PROJECT: The project includes 496 feet of 6" perforated CASE D, Type 1 subdrain mainline, 176 feet of 4" storm sewer service stubs, 82 SY of PCC work and seeding and, fertilizing and mulching in the south east part of Newton along S 8th Ave E 2.     Plans and Specifications.  Plans and specifications for construction of said public improvement are included in this Request for Quotations packet. 3.     Site Visit.  Interested contractors are further advised that a site visit may be arranged by contacting Brandon Schakel - Engineering Tech. at 641-792-6622, ext. 2318. 4.     Time, Place and Manner for Filing Competitive Quotations. a.  Competitive quotations for construct the public improvement work described above shall be filed in the office of the City of Newton Public Works Director, 303 W 4th St N, Suite 501, Newton, Iowa, on or before 11:00 am on February 20th , 2025. b.
