Description: For a copy of Addendum #2 to Bid #04-24-25-03, “Hayestown Avenue School Elevator Addition" click here For a copy of Addendum #1 to Bid #04-24-25-03, “Hayestown Avenue School Elevator Addition" click here INVITATION TO BID Sealed Bids for Bid No. 04-24-25-03, “Hayestown Avenue School Elevator Addition", Danbury, CT, Project No. 24-07 will be received at Danbury City Hall, Purchasing Agent's office, 155 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury, CT 06810 until Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 10:00 AM. Prior to the public opening of the bids, any bid submitted may be withdrawn by the bidder if said bidder discovers mathematical or clerical errors in his bid. Any such bid withdrawal may be made without penalty or prejudice. After the bids are opened, all offers will be considered firm for a period of ninety days and no bid may be withdrawn for any reason during that period except for such cause as the City of Danbury in its sole discretion deems sufficient. Work consists of all labor, tools, materials and equipment necessary to provide a new elevator hoistway addition and all associated components required to ensure proper installation and integration with supporting building systems, along with interior alterations to existing classrooms, site work, and related work and materials. A bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid shall accompany each bid. A non-collusion statement for Prime Contractors and any addendum acknowledgement must also be submitted at the time of the bid. A performance, labor and materials bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the accepted bid will be required. This is a State assisted contract. The contractor must comply with the requirements as specified herein. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on site at 42 Tamarack Ave. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 3:30 PM. Bidders will meet at the lower gym entrance to the building off of Tamarack Avenue at the site. Electronic copies of plans and specifications (Contract Documents) may be obtained by contacting the Purchasing Agent’s office at (203) 797-4571. Contractors whose bid exceeds $1,000,000 shall hold a current “DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate” (not a predetermination letter) from the Department of Administrative Services of the State of Connecticut according to C.G.S. 4a-100, C.G.S. 4b-101, and C.G.S. 4b-91. These bidders shall submit with their bids, unless noted otherwise, a “DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate” along with a current “Update (Bid) Statement”. Any bid submitted without a copy of the DAS Prequalification Certificate and an Update (Bid) Statement shall be invalid. Contractors must be classified with DAS as GENERAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION (GROUP B) with the appropriate aggregate. Additionally, any subcontractor working for a General Contractor whose work exceeds $1,000,000 must also be prequalified with the DAS as per C.G.S. 4b-9l (j). This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including set-aside (twenty-five percent (25%) SBE and six and one-quarter percent (6.25%) M/W/DisBE) and non-discrimination requirements enforced by the CHRO.
