CITY OF LAKEWAYITB No. 26-1004Intersection Improvements – Highlands Blvd at Tavish Trail and Bee Creek RoadPre-Bid QuestionsQuestions and AnswerApril 17, 2026Question No. 1 - There are utility boxes on both sides – including water lines andcommunication boxes, will there be utility reroutes?Answer: Per item 2 in the construction sequencing notes of the civil improvement plans,the contractor is to meet with the utility representatives to coordinate the locations ofunderground lines. The surveyor is currently capturing the 811 information, and an updatedsurvey will be provided along with direction from the engineer.Question No. 2 – What are the traffic control requirements on the approaches withnarrower widths?Answer: The roundabout segments on Bee Creek Rd and Baldovino Skyway can betemporarily closed during the construction of the crosswalks and flumes at their specificcrossings as approved by the City. The approaches on Highlands Blvd offer enough spaceto close off one lane at a time while the crosswalks are being constructed.Question No. 3 - Entry accessAnswer: Bidders may contact Travis County to coordinate access through the gated roadon the Bee Creek side. Staging and parking may be accommodated on the southwestcorner of the RH Lakeway property. Final details will be confirmed upon award.Question No. 4 – What is the timeline for delivery if the procurement of the light polestakes 16-20 weeks?Answer: Per the contract, work shall be substantially completed within ninety calendardays after the start date specified in the notice to proceed. The city has expressed that ifthere is a period of downtime that is incurred because of the procurement of the signalITB No. No. 26-1004Questions and AnswersPage 1poles, the timeline can be paused until the equipment has been delivered. Crosswalk worknot related to signal pole installation can be started as soon as a notice to proceed hasbeen issued. The schedule related to the light poles will be adjusted to reflect theprocurement schedule.Question No. 5 – Are there staging areas available for construction equipment?Answer: There are open areas at each of the site locations that can be used as a stagingarea and overnight equipment storage. The city will coordinate equipment storagelocations once construction activities have commenced. Any additional storage required isto be approved by the city.Question No. 6 – Is there an opportunity for the phasing of work?Answer: The city has expressed that they are open to a phased construction schedule inthe event that the signal poles take an extended period to be procured. All improvementsnot relating to the signal poles can be conducted first, and a second phase to install thesignal poles can be started once they have been delivered.Question No. 7 – Is the Geotechnical Engineer Report available?Answer: There is no Geotechnical Engineering Report for this project.Question No. 8 - Hours of workAnswer: Per General Conditions, Page 5, Section 1.50 (Working Hours)Question No. 9 – Stormwater conveyance in the flumesAnswer: The proposed flumes will not connect to any stormwater systems.
