ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Ridgeland, Mississippi will receive written sealed or electronic bids until the hour of 10:00 AM (CT) on November 26, 2024 at the Public Works Department, 100 W School St, Ridgeland, MS 39157, for the furnishing of all labor and equipment for the execution of that certain project designated as CITY-WIDE DEAD TREE REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 10:00 AM (CT) on November 26, 2024 in the Public Works Conference Room at 100 W School St, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
Contractors have the option of submitting their bids sealed in an envelope or electronically through http://www.centralbidding.com. Registration and a valid email address are required for electronic id submission. Sealed bid envelopes shall be marked “SEALED BID FOR CITY OF RIDGELAND – CITY-WIDE DEAD TREE REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL” and if any envelope is not so marked, any bid contained therein will not be considered.
All bid envelopes should contain the bidder’s name and mailing address on the face of the envelope. The bid shall also contain the bidder’s Certificate of Responsibility number or a statement that the bid enclosed does not exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) on the outside of the envelope, failing which, said bid shall not be opened or considered.
When submitting an electronic bid, the bid must be submitted in “pdf” format and shall contain the same information and forms as required for the paper bids. Electronic bids must be secured with a bid bond. When bids are submitted electronically, the requirement for including a certificate of responsibility, or a statement that the bid enclosed does not exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00), on the exterior of the bid envelope shall be deemed in compliance by including the same information as an attachment with the electronic bid submittal.
Official bid documents can be downloaded from www.centralbidding.com or may be obtained from the City of Ridgeland Public Works Department, 100 West School Street, Ridgeland, MS 39157.  The bid documents may be examined at the Mississippi Procurement Technical Assistance Program (MPTAP) Mississippi Development Authority, Minority & Small Business Development, Woolfolk Building 501 North West Street, Suite B 01, Jackson, MS 39201.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 AM (CT) on November 14, 2024 in the Public Works Conference Room at 100 W School St, Ridgeland, MS 39157. All project related questions should be directed to Matt Dodd via email at [email protected] with the subject line reading – “CITY-WIDE DEAD TREE REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL PROJECT” no later than November 19, 2024 at 12:00 p.m.
The project consists of Hazard, Dead, and Live Tree Removal and Disposal, Hazard Limb Removal and Disposal, and associated Stump Grinding.  The total Contract Time will be 180 consecutive calendar days and the liquidated damages will be $500.00 per consecutive calendar day thereafter.
Minority and women’s business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities and equipment, material, and/or supply needs.
The City of Ridgeland reserves the right to amend the specifications and contract documents as necessary prior to bid and agrees to notify all having requested bid packets. The City of Ridgeland reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids and to waive any and all informalities.
The City of Ridgeland, Mississippi hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, religion or national origin in consideration for an award.
Award will be made to the lowest and best bidder and the City of Ridgeland, Mississippi reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
