PETROLEUM PRODUCTS AND
STREET MAINTENANCE MATERIALS
FOR YEAR 2027Sealed bids will be received at the City Finance office, PO Box 910, 20 N Maple, Watertown SD 57201, up to 03:00 PM on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 for furnishing of the following items, to the City of Watertown, South Dakota:
1. Hot mix and cold mix asphalt
2. Petroleum Products
3. Salt, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride
Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or cashier’s check in the amount of $200. Such check shall be a certified or a cashier’s check issued by either a state or national bank and payable to the City Finance Office as a guarantee that such bidder will enter into a contract with said City in case such bidder be awarded the contract. PERSONAL, CORPORATION, OR COMPANY CHECKS NOT CERTIFIED WILL DISQUALIFY THE BID. In lieu of bid check security, a bid bond in twice the amount of the bid security is acceptable. Bid shall be enclosed in a separate envelope with the notation “BID ENCLOSED” clearly marked on the face of the envelope.
At the time named above such bids will be opened publicly and will be referred to the City Engineer and City Council for tabulation and review. The City Council will meet in City Hall, 20 N Maple, in said City on Monday, October 5, 2026 at 5:30 PM to pass upon the same.
Specifications for such bids are on file in the office of the City Engineer, where the same may be examined.
The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, or any part of the bid, or to accept a bidder other than the lowest in case it seems advisable to said City Council so to do. No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the actual date of opening thereof. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to material products and supplies found or produced within the State of South Dakota.
