Now Accepting Bids for Surplus Vacant Land
JPS is opening bids for the sale of surplus property now until December 8, 2025. The Board of Trustees has designated several real property parcels as surplus under Miss. Code Ann. §37-7-455. These sites include vacant land only, as outlined in the attached Undeveloped Properties Sites list. When submitting a bid, please access and complete the bid form below, titled Sale of Surplus Property (Vacant Land), following all instructions provided on the form.

Bids in any other form will bedeemed non-responsive and rejected.Each bid must be accompanied by earnest money that is at least ten (10%) percent of theminimum offer amount listed on the “Undeveloped Properties Sites” list (see attached). Allearnest money must be in the form of a certified check, drawn on a Mississippi bank. The checkshall be made payable to the Jackson Public School District.If the Realty is not sold pursuant to this advertisement, the Board reserves the right to offer theproperty at public auction or to sell by alternative lawful means, including but not limited toMiss. Code Ann. § 37-7-471 through 37-7-485, for no less than the highest sealed bid received.Although the District intends to sell the Realty outright, “as is” for cash, bidders may also submitan alternative proposal for joint development or long-term lease consistent with applicableMississippi law.All bids shall remain firm until acted upon by the Board.
