CONCRETE TONGUE AND GROOVE PIPE

The Whitfield County Board of Commissioners will receive sealed bids until 2:00 PM on December 2,

2025 for CONCRETE TONGUE AND GROOVE PIPE. Bids shall be submitted in a sealed opaque

envelope and shall be marked on the outside exactly as follows:

Bid Submittal Instructions:

 Vendors are to submit 1 original and 2 copies of their bid.

 Any deviation from the requirements set forth for the labeling of bid envelopes shall result in

said bid being returned to the bidder unopened and any such bid shall not be considered.

 Sealed bids shall be addressed to the attention of Brian McBrayer and mailed to Whitfield

County Board of Commissioners, P.O. Box 248, Dalton GA 30722-0248 or delivered to the

Board of Commissioners’ Office, Courthouse Annex, 201 S Hamilton St 4th floor, Dalton

GA 30720. All bids shall be received on or before the above designated date and time. Any

bid received after this date and time shall not be accepted. Bids shall be typed or submitted in

ink. Bids will be publicly opened and read. Bids are legal and binding upon the bidder when

submitted.

 It is understood that this contract, if accepted by Whitfield County, is entered into for the

convenience of the county, and in no way precludes the county from obtaining like goods from

other suppliers upon prior approval of the Whitfield County Board of Commissioners. Such

approval shall be made at the sole discretion of the Board of Commissioners and shall be

conclusive. The materials shall be in compliance with the specifications as prepared by the

State Highway Engineer. The materials shall be produced in accordance with the laws of

Georgia under the supervision and to the satisfaction of the Department of Transportation and

Whitfield County.

 Whitfield County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids for any reason, to waive

technicalities, and to make an award deemed in its best interest. The county shall have the

right to delete a unit item from the bid if necessary or proper in the sole determination of the

county.

 Effective July 1, 2012 any vendor that provides a service to Public Works will be required to

submit verification that your company is complaint with O.C.G.A 13-10-91, which states that

the individual, firm or corporation which is engaged in the physical performance of services

under a contract to Public Works has registered with and is participating in a federal work

authorization program. E-Verify is the electronic employment eligibility verification system that

all vendors must use to comply.

The Whitfield County Board of Commissioners requires a certificate of insurance for all individuals or

companies providing services to the Public Works Department, therefore we require your company

turn in with your bid a certificate of insurance for your carrier.

Requirements of Insurance Coverage:

1. Automobile liability (covering owned, hired and non-owned vehicles)

General Liability (same limits as automobile)

This is the minimum coverage we will accept; however, this coverage does not properly

protect you. We strongly suggest that you acquire coverage of $500,000.00 combined

single limits.

2. Workers’ Compensation and Employer’s Liability, which provides statutory limits. The

purchase of this coverage will offer you protection in the event of a job-related injury.

3. The certificate of insurance must name Whitfield County Board of Commissioners as

Certificate Holder and must contain a thirty (30) day notice of cancellation clause.
