In accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Code of the City of Redding, sealed bids

will be received by the City Clerk’s 3rd floor office located at City Hall, 777 Cypress Avenue,

Redding, California 96001 prior to 3:00 p.m. PT, Friday, March 13, 2026, for supplying

Underarm Side-Break Switches and Retrofit Kits to the City of Redding, per the bid specifications

and general conditions.

BIDS RECEIVED AFTER THIS TIME AND DATE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED OR

CONSIDERED.

The said bids will be opened at 3:00 p.m. PST, on Friday, March 13, 2026, in the

designated City Hall Conference Room as posted in the main lobby of City Hall, 777 Cypress

Avenue, Redding, California.

All bids must be submitted on standard bid forms provided by the City of Redding. The

bidder shall provide the original (unbound) and one (1) copy of the bid proposal. Electronic

submission of bid proposals will not be allowed. The City will award any resulting contract in a

manner consistent with the City purchasing ordinance.

The cut-off date and time for receiving questions regarding this bid is 5:00 p.m. PST, on

Wednesday March 4, 2026. All inquiries must be made in writing and may be submitted to the

email address shown below.

The prices quoted herein are firm, and are not subject to change. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids

and to waive minor irregularities.

It is understood that this bid shall remain open and shall not be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days from the

date prescribed for the opening of the bid.

It is further agreed that the materials to be furnished under this proposal will be delivered f.o.b. Redding, California,

to the City's Electric Facilities at Electric Utility Building No. 2, 20055 Viking Way, Redding, CA 96003-8229. Any and

all shipping or delivery costs shall be paid by the supplier. Bid prices shall include/factor in delivery costs, no additional

freight or shipping charges will be permitted.

Submission of this bid shall be conclusive evidence that the bidder has read and understands the specifications

incorporated herein.

UNDERARM SIDE-BREAK SWITCH

I.

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS

1.00

PURPOSE

It is the intent of these specifications to obtain, for the City of Redding Electric Utility, Underarm Side-

Break Switches of proven performance, rugged, reliable, and capable of remaining in service for many

years without replacement.

2.00

CONTRACT TERM

The initial contract period shall be from Contract Award Date through February 28, 2027. If mutually

agreed upon, with all price adjustment methods, terms, and conditions remaining the same, this contract

may be extended for four (4) additional one (1) year periods through February 28, 2031.

3.00

PRICE GUARANTEE

All quoted prices for switches and accessories shall remain valid for a period of four months from the date

of contract award. Beyond this period, the unit price of any switch or accessory purchased will be subject

to an adjustment upon issuance of the purchase order. This adjustment will be made in direct correlation

to the change in the latest available preliminary index of the Producer Price Index (PPI) as reported by the

U.S. Department of Labor. The specific series ID for this PPI is “Switchgear and switchboard apparatus

mfg” (PCU335313335313). The base index for this adjustment shall be the December 2025 Index of

369.007(P).

This adjustment may result in either an increase or decrease in the unit price in comparison to the original

bid price. In the event of a contract extension by mutual agreement, any purchase orders issued during the

extension period shall also have the unit prices of switches or accessories adjusted using the same

methodology.

4.00

ORDERING

Orders may be placed at any time within the contract period. Evaluated Quantities are multipliers used

for bid comparison and represent the City’s estimated annual need, though they do not represent a

guaranteed purchase commitment.

The City reserves the right to purchase more or less than the evaluated quantities at the contracted unit

price to meet system requirements.

The City reserves the right to purchase equipment from any available source in an emergency/immediate

need.

5.00

INVOICING

All invoice line items shall state the quoted catalog number and the City stock number (for example,

E730.17). Payment may be delayed if invoices do not meet these City requirements.
