Vail Pass Bridge #4 Abutment RepairShare this pageView RFP
Summit County Government (“County”) is soliciting bids from a qualified engineer to provide a geotechnical evaluation and engineered designs related to the replacement and stabilization of bridge abutments and substructure for a pedestrian bridge. The bridge currently has a Bridge Condition Classification of “Poor” due to the abutments being out of plumb.
Bridge #4 is located on the Vail Pass Recpath, an approximately 4.1-mile stretch of paved non-motorized trail connecting Vail Pass and Copper Mountain Resort. The path was constructed in conjunction with I-70 in the late 1970’s. The path is used extensively during the summer months and sees approximately 60,000 users annually. It is not plowed, and use is very minimal during the winter months. Bridge #4 is located on USFS lands in a CDOT right-of-way and is accessed via the Recpath from the west end of Copper Mountain Resort.
Bids are due September 30 at 5:00 pm.
