LEGAL NOTICE

INVITATION TO BIDDERS

The Town of Smyrna will accept bids on the GOLF COURSE WATER LINE w ork will include :

T apping and connecting to an existing 24-inch water main , installing approximately 3 53 L.F. of 8-inch water line , 200 LF of 6- inch water line, 70 LF of 4 -inch water line and installing a new 2-inch meter service assembly , reconnecting an existing service line, cutting and capping multiple section s of existing water line, installing multiple end-of-line fire hydrant assembl ies, an d abandonment of a section of the existing line within the Smyrna Municipal Airport property , along with all necessary appurtenances and restoration. The project shall be completed fully within FORTY-FIVE ( 45 ) consecutive calendar days.

A Non- Mandatory Pr e-Bid Meeting will be held on Thursday , December 4th at 1 : 0 0 P.M. at the Smyrna Town Hall. Bids received from bidders who have not attended the Pre-Bid Meeting and Signed the attendance sheet at the meeting will be considered non-responsive .

Sealed bids will be accepted until Thursday , December 11th at 10 : 0 0 A .M. at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. All bids must be marked in a sealed envelope and mailed or hand delivered to:

Electronic c opies of both plans and specifications may be obtained from Thomas & Hutton upon payment of $ 75 .00 per set , none of which is refundable. Bids wi ll not be opened from Bidders who have not obtained the cont ract documents from the engineer. Upon request by the bidder, paper copies of the plans may be purchased for an additional $75.00 per set.

All Bidders must be licensed Contractors in the State of Tennessee in strict accordance with State regulations. All bidders shall comply with the Tennessee Contractor’ License law Section 62-6-119 (Bid documents - Required disclosure by bidders) when submitting

bids. Please refer to State Licensing Board https://www.tn.gov/commerce/regboards/contractor for all applicable licensing laws.

Bidders may be required to obtain a Smyrna Business License. Refer to the contract documents for criteria.

A ll bidders shall adhere to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act enacted in 1964 which states that “No person in the United States shall, on grounds of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or subjected t o discrimination under any program or activity receiving fed eral financial assistance”, state of Tennessee funding, and/or funded by the Town of Smyrna. In addition, the Town of Smyrna will not discriminate in the purchase of all goods and services based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or any other lawfully protected classification.

Bids may not be withdrawn for ninety (90) days after the actual date of the opening.

The Town of Smyrna reserves the right to reject any a nd all bids, to waive technicalities or informalities and to accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
