The Western Virginia Water Authority (WVWA) is seeking bids for the supply of the following wastewater and water treatment chemicals for the period July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027: Calcium Hypochlorite (Granular and Tablet) – Wastewater (WQ-WPCP-2026-CH01)
Ferric Chloride – Wastewater (WQ-WPCP-2026-FC01)
Sodium Bisulfite – Wastewater (WQ-WPCP-2026-SB01)
Sodium Hypochlorite – Wastewater and Water (WQ-WPCP-2026-SH01)
Interested parties should submit a sealed bid to WVWA Wastewater Operations Division, 1502 Brownlee Avenue, S.E., Roanoke, Virginia 24014, by Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 2:00 pm, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after that time will not be opened. Questions or concerns will be accepted and addressed no later than June 4, 2026, at 2:00 pm by contacting the Wastewater Operations Division at (540) 283-8284, lacy.burnette@westernvawater.org. Information and Bidding Documents can be found on the following website: https://www.westernvawater.org/doing-business-with-us/invitations-to-bid. Bidders are responsible for:
• Completing all pricing and signature forms, and
• Acknowledging all addenda issued through the WVWA website It is the sole responsibility of the bidder to ensure that their bid is submitted to the above address by the specified date and time. The Bid Form and Contract Signature Page must be completed and signed at the time of submission. Code of Virginia § 2.2-4303: All local public bodies shall provide an option to submit bids or proposals through eVA or other electronic means. In cases where bids or proposals are submitted electronically, the local public body may also require a certain number of paper submissions for review purposes. Please be advised, the WVWA is requiring sealed hard copy bids to be submitted to the address above by June 11th, 2026, 2:00 pm deadline. It is the responsibility of the Bidder to check the Authority’s website for any addenda that may be issued prior to the Bid Opening. Bidder must acknowledge all issued addenda on Bid Form. Failure to do so may be grounds for rejection of the bid.
Bidders are referred to the Code of Virginia, Public Procurement Act § 2.2-4300 et seq. to review the process for competitive sealed bidding. If a contract is awarded, the successful bidder(s) shall enter into a one (1) year contract, with the option to renew the contract for an additional one (1) yearperiod, for a maximum contract term of two (2) years. The Authority/Owner reserves the right to exercise or not exercise renewal periods. The agreement shall be executed within thirty (30) days of the bid opening. It is not the intent of the specifications to be proprietary or to exclude any manufacturer or dealer. Any brand names used in these specifications are for comparison only. Deviations and/or alternates will be given consideration if they are suitable and acceptable for comparison. Any deviations or alternates must be submitted, in writing, and clearly identified in the bid. Deviations or alternates discovered after bid award or material receipt, not stated in the bid, shall be grounds for disqualification and nullification of the order.Bulk Chemical Bid Form - Ferric Chloride
