Description: ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Awarding Authority: The Town of Braintree, Braintree, Massachusetts Invitation to bid: Asbestos Abatement Location: High School, 128 Town Street, Braintree, MA. Highlands Elementary School, 144 Wildwood Avenue, Braintree, MA. One sealed bid in envelope plainly marked: "Bid for Asbestos Abatement for Town of Braintree High School Highlands Elementary School Braintree, Massachusetts" Bids will be received at: “The Town of Braintree Department of Public Works 85 Quincy Avenue Braintree, Massachusetts 02184" File Sub-Bids: Not Required. General Bids: On Thursday, June 12, 2025, prior to 11:00-AM. At which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. The work includes the Removal and disposal of asbestos containing materials as called out in the specifications. Refer to Appendix A for the table of approximate quantities. Pre bid site visit: A pre-bid Site visit will take place on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 2:30PM starting at the Highland Elementary School then on to the High School. Each BID shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 5% of the Total Bid Price. Pursuant to M.G.L. c. 149, § 29, the Contractor shall furnish a performance bond in 100% of the total Contract price and a payment bond in an amount of 100% of the total Contract price from a surety company qualified to do business under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and satisfactory to the Awarding Authority or furnished and materials used or employed therein, when the Contract is executed. Attention is called to the fact that not less than minimum prevailing wage rates set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project. Attention is also called to requirements relating to Workmen's Compensation and conditions of employment. Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed (180) days from the date of the opening of the bids, Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays excluded, for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding the contract. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive informalities, to reject any and all bids and to award the Contract in the best interest of the Awarding Authority.
