Description: County of Carteret is seeking qualified contractors to perform a comprehensive Fire Alarm System Inventory & Verification Assessment across fourteen (14) County-owned facilities. The selected contractor will provide professional labor, supervision, documentation, and reporting necessary to verify existing fire alarm systems, identify equipment, and produce a standardized inventory report for County records. Enclosed is a Request for Proposals (RFP) outlining the full scope of services, including: Identification of fire alarm control panels (manufacturer, model, configuration, and communication type) A complete device inventory of initiating devices, notification appliances, and system components Review of system configuration (SLC loops, NAC circuits, power supplies, integrations) Documentation review where available Submission of facility-specific reports, labeled photographs, and a master inventory spreadsheet in Excel format All responses must be submitted in writing no later than 10:00 AM (EST) on February 26, 2026. Contractors submitting proposals by mail should allow sufficient delivery time. The responsibility for timely receipt lies solely with the responding contractors. Carteret County will not be responsible for delays caused by postal services, courier services, or other occurrences. CARTERET COUNTY

INTRODUCTION

Carteret County is soliciting proposals from appropriately licensed and experienced contractors authorized to perform

fire alarm system services in the State of North Carolina. The County seeks professional assistance to conduct a

comprehensive on-site Fire Alarm System Inventory & Verification Assessment across fourteen (14) County-owned

facilities. The selected contractor will support the County in verifying installed fire alarm systems, identifying fire alarm

control panel manufacturers and models, documenting system configurations, and providing a complete inventory of

initiating devices, notification appliances, and associated components. The contractor will also deliver standardized

facility-specific reports and a master inventory spreadsheet for County records.

All work must comply with North Carolina General Statutes, applicable fire and life safety codes, OSHA requirements,

all relevant state and local regulations, and any federal requirements associated with the project’s funding source.

Purpose
