CANYON LAKE MIDDLE SCHOOL EXTERIOR RE-PAINT

BID NO. 07-25/26

General: The following changes, additions and clarifications have been made to the original Bid

Documents for the above referenced project and shall be incorporated into the Bidder’s response. All

project documents provided with, and referenced in, the District’s Bid No. 01-25/26, including contract

documents and specifications (collectively, the “Bid Documents”) shall remain unchanged with the

exception of those elements added, revised, deleted, or clarified by this Addendum. In case of conflict

between the Bid Documents and this Addendum, this Addendum shall govern and shall supersede any

term in the Bid Document that contradicts or otherwise clashes with this Addendum.

All bidders must acknowledge receipt of Addendum Number One on the Bid Form and failure to

do so may subject Bidder to disqualification.

REVISION TO BID DOCUMENTS:

Exhibit A: Exterior Re-Paint Specification

1) General Conditions – Section 1.01 Subsection A (page 2)

The District shall provide all paints, sundries, storage containers, temporary fencing, portable

restrooms and lifts necessary to complete the above project as specified in the Bid Documents.

2) Surface Preparation – Metal Substrates – Section 3.04 Subsection C Item 14 (page 9)

Exterior Re-Paint of roof surfaces shall be removed from the scope of work. No primers, sealers, or

finish coatings shall be applied to any roof surfaces. Roof surfaces shall be limited to cleaning

operations only, consisting of:

• Complete power washing of all roof areas

• Spot treatment utilizing a TSP No-Rinse solution to remove surface contaminants, as needed

All references within the Contract Documents requiring coating application to roof surfaces

shall be considered deleted.

ANSWERS to Pre-Bid Clarifications:

Q: Could you please advise if the walkway canopies ceilings and roofs are part of the Bid or not? (HFI

Inc)

A: Yes, repainting the walkway canopies ceilings (Ceiling Lids & Overhangs – Exhibit A - Page

13)are included in the Scope Of Work of this Bid. The Scope Of Work for roof surfaces has been

revised. No primers, sealers, or finish coatings shall be applied to any roof surfaces. Roof

surfaces shall be limited to cleaning operations only.

Q: Just to clarify, are barrel roofs part of the Bid? (HFI Inc)

A: The Scope Of Work for roof surfaces has been revised. No primers, sealers, or finish coatings

shall be applied to any roof surfaces. Roof surfaces shall be limited to cleaning operations only.

Q: If so please advise on the ceiling of the contract; is the contract ceiling bid price limited to $220,000.00

and exceptionally $235,000.00? (HFI Inc)

A: The District estimates that bids will come in below the Informal Bidding Procedures threshold

of $220,000.00. Please note that governing boards, by a four-fifths vote, may award contracts

up to $235,000.00 to the lowest responsible bidder only if all bids received are in excess of

$220,000.00 and only if the District determines that its cost estimate was reasonable.

A: The District shall provide all paints, sundries, storage containers, temporary fencing, portable

Q: Is there going to be a Project Manager on the job site to oversee the painting project to sign off on each

phase of work? Prep, Prime and Both finish coats etc. (Case & Sons Construction Inc.)

A: Yes, there will be Project Manager on the job along with the District to oversee the painting

project and to sign off on each phase of work.
