Notice is hereby given that the governing board (“Board”) of the Salida Union School District(“District”) will receive sealed bids for the following project (“Project” or “Contract”):SUSD | Dena Boer Elementary School - Modular Classroom & Sitework #24801 Gold Valley Road, Salida, CA 95368TETER #: 25-13453PTN: 71266-242. The Project consists of:Removal of existing modular classroom building and site improvements (landscaping andplay equipment). Replacement of existing concrete walkways. Removal of portions ofthe existing fencing and installation of new decorative metal and chain-link fencing.Sitework, utility installations, and final utility connections for the installation of a newOwner-Furnished Owner-Installed permanent modular building. Installation of newconcrete paving, landscaping and irrigation systems. Installation of new Fire Alarm andlow-voltage systems within the modular building.3. To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to possess one or more of the following State ofCalifornia contractors’ license(s): Class B. The Bidder's license(s) must remain active and in goodstanding throughout the term of the Contract.4. To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to be registered as a public works contractor with theDepartment of Industrial Relations pursuant to the Labor Code.5. Contract Documents will be available electronically on or after April 9, 2026, and may be downloadedfrom the District’s website: http://www.salida.k12.ca.us/42365_3.In addition, Contract Documents are available for bidders’ review at the following builders’ exchanges:Valley Builder’s Exchange: (209) 522-9031; www.valleybx.com; info@valleybx.com6. Sealed bids will be received until 3:00 p.m., April 30, 2026, at the SUSD District Office, 4801 SiskRoad, Salida, CA 95368 at or after which time the bids will be opened and publicly read aloud. Anybid that is submitted after this time shall be nonresponsive and returned to the bidder. Any claim by abidder of error in its bid must be made in compliance with section 5100 et seq. of the Public ContractCode.7. All bids shall be on the form provided by the District. Each bid must conform and be responsive to allpertinent Contract Documents, including, but not limited to, the Instructions to Bidders.8. A bid bond by an admitted surety insurer on the form provided by the District a cashier's check or acertified check, drawn to the order of the Salida Union School District, in the amount of ten percent(10%) of the total bid price, shall accompany the Bid Form and Proposal, as a guarantee that theBidder will, within seven (7) calendar days after the date of the Notice of Award, enter into a contractwith the District for the performance of the services as stipulated in the bid.9. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visits will be held on April 14, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., at theDena Boer ES site: 4801 Gold Valley Road, Salida, CA 95368. All participants are required to sign in.The pre-bid conference is expected to take approximately one-half of an hour. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% PaymentBond if it is awarded the Contract for the Work.11. The successful Bidder may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the District to ensureperformance under the Contract, in accordance with the provisions of section 22300 of the PublicContract Code.12. The successful bidder will be required to certify that it either meets the Disabled Veteran BusinessEnterprise (“DVBE”) goal of three percent (3%) participation or made a good faith effort to solicitDVBE participation in this Contract if it is awarded the Contract for the Work.13. The Contractor and all Subcontractors under the Contractor shall pay all workers on all Workperformed pursuant to this Contract not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages andthe general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work as determined by the Director of theDepartment of Industrial Relations, State of California, for the type of work performed and the localityin which the work is to be performed within the boundaries of the District, pursuant to section 1770 etseq. of the California Labor Code. Prevailing wage rates are also available from the District or on theInternet at: <http://www.dir.ca.gov>.14. This Project is subject to labor compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department ofIndustrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1771.4 and subject to the requirements of Title 8of the California Code of Regulations. The successful Bidder shall comply with all requirements ofDivision 2, Part 7, Chapter 1, Articles 1-5 of the Labor Code.15. The District shall award the Contract, if it awards it at all, to the lowest responsive responsible bidderbased on: The base bid amount only.16. Engineer’s Estimate: $575,000.0017. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bidreceived. If the District awards the Contract, the security of unsuccessful bidder(s) shall be returnedwithin sixty (60) days from the time the award is made.
