Owner’s Request for ProposalIntent1. This section includes:a. Hydraulic passenger2. The following outlines the scope of work covered in this Section:THE SUBSTANTIAL TURN-KEY MODERNIZATION OF ONE (1) HYDRAULIC ELEVATOR, TOINCLUDE THE RELATED WORK BY OTHER TRADES AS DENOTED IN SECTION 1.5, AND BEINCLUSIVE OF REPLACMENT CONTROLLER, POWER UNIT, WIRING, HALL/CAR FIXTURES, ANDDOOR EQUIPMENT.3. Related equipment shall be designed, constructed, installed and adjusted to produce the highestresults with respect to smooth, quiet, convenient and efficient operation, durability, economy ofmaintenance, and the highest standard of safety.4. It is not the intent of these specifications to detail the construction and design of all parts of theequipment, but it is expected that the type, materials, design, quality of work and constructionof each part shall be adequate for the service required, durable, properly coordinated with allother parts, and in accordance with the best commercial standards applicable and of the highestcommercial efficiency possible.5. Minimum requirements for design, materials, etc., are for certain parts of the equipment.Equivalent requirements approved by the Owner shall apply to such parts as are of specialdesign, construction or material and to which the specified requirements are not directlyapplicable. These minimum requirements as a whole shall be considered as establishingproportionate general minimum standards for all parts of the equipment.6. The Owner may permit variations from the requirement of these specifications to permit use ofthe Contractor’s standard equipment, provided such standard equipment is in every wayadequate for the intended use and meets the full intent of these specifications. All suchvariations proposed by the manufacturer shall be called to the attention of the Owner and shallonly be made if approved in writing prior to the award of the contract.7. General requirements for design, materials and construction are intended primarily to apply tothe parts of the equipment specifically mentioned.
