Pursuant to LA RS 38:2212(B)(6), sealed bids shall be delivered one of three ways.

1. Hand-delivered by the bidder or his agent, in which a written receipt shall be

provided

2. Sent by registered or certified mail with a return receipt requested

3. Submitted electronically at http://assumptionla.com/bids.aspx

from the parish website at http://assumptionla.com/bids.aspx.

IMPORTANT-PLEASE NOTE

 Specifications will be strictly enforced. (i.e. No bids will be accepted after 2:00 P.M.

The Public Works Dept. clock will be official time). Make arrangements for

prompt delivery of bid.

 Also, no multiple bids in one envelope. Each bid must be marked for that item

and in an individual envelope. Bids submitted otherwise will be void.

 All entries on Bid Forms must be original. No white-out or corrections will be

accepted. Bids submitted otherwise will be void.

 Anyone attending bid opening is encouraged to be prompt and prepared to record

information during opening procedures.

 All vendors are responsible for their own invoicing directly with their suppliers. All

purchase orders for material are issued to the vendor that has been awarded the bid.

These can not be issued to the supplier.

 No copies of bid results will be available until accepted by the Assumption Parish

Police Jury at its next regular scheduled meeting.

TIED BID PROCEDURE as suggested by the Legislative Auditor’s Office and AG

Opinion. Said procedure requires that if bids come in for the same amount, for the same

product or service, preference shall be given to the bidder whose firm has its principal

place of business in Assumption Parish then to the bidder whose product is locally made

or obtained. If there is no distinguishing factor, bids will be broken by the flip of a coin

with each bidder given the opportunity to be present for said flip.

Bids submitted and not within the specifications will be considered void.

The Assumption Parish Police Jury will not do business with any company who is

suspended or debarred with the Federal Government. Verification will be pulled

from SAM.gov prior to the awarding of any bid.
