2026 Proposal RequestFor Roadside Vegetative Management Chemical Mowing

The County of Coweta, Georgia invites qualified firms to submit proposals for approximately 300 to 325 miles of Vegetative Roadside Management for Chemical Mowing.

Scope:

  • The specification, bid sheets and conditions are attached.
  • Vendors that submit a proposal may request to be present at opening or will be notified at a later date of the bid results. All proposals must be submitted to the Coweta County Road Department, Attention: Ryan Phillips, Director, 70 Selt Road, Newnan, Georgia 30263. Any proposals submitted after the time and date specified, or submitted in a manner other than that which is specified, will not be accepted. Vendor shall submit completed immigration compliance forms O.C.G.A. § 50-36-1(3) (2) Affidavit and Contractor Affidavit under O.C.G.A. §13-10-91(b) (1)
  • Proposals shall be submitted on or before, March 2, 2065, by 11:00 AM. This is a sealed bid and the outside of the envelope should be clearly marked “2025 ROADSIDE VEGETATIVE MANAGEMENT CHEMICAL MOWING PROPOSAL”. Bids will be opened and read aloud at 11:30 AM at the Coweta County Commission Chambers located at 37 Perry Street.

Other Matters:

  • Invoices should be mailed to Coweta County Public Works, 70 Selt Road, Newnan,

    Georgia 30263.
  • The County’s staff contact person is Ryan Phillips.
  • The Coweta County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
Roadside Vegetative Management Specifications

2026 Chemical Mowing Season

1.0 Scope of Work

  • 1.1        The application of specific herbicides on roadside to control and/or inhibit growth and seed head formation of weeds, fescue, and Bahia grass in order to reduce mowing and trimming requirements while allowing for Bermuda grass release. The goal is to keep the overall height of the grass to 8-12 inches or less. A no-brown out program is required.

2.0 Areas to Be Treated

  • 2.1        Paved roadsides
  • 2.2        Specific for Coweta County -

    Spraying approximately 300 to 325 miles of paved roads. 15’-0” from edge of the pavement on both sides of the road.

3.0 Timing of Herbicide Applications

  • 3.1        Paved Roads
  • 1st – April (first two weeks)
  • 2nd - May to June
  • 3rd – August to September

4.0 Herbicide Selection

  • 4.1         There will be no substituting herbicides.
