Ejector Trailer Bid Cover Letter
The City of McMinnville will receive sealed bids for purchase of a closed top Ejector Trailer
to haul municipal solid waste per the specifications enclosed. Bids will be received no later
than 2:00 p.m. local time, April 14th, 2026, in the office of the city recorder, McMinnville
City Hall, 101 East Main Street, McMinnville, Tennessee 37110, and then at said office
publicly opened and read aloud. Bids will be awarded based on the lowest and/or best bid.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
Bidders are requested to read the complete specifications invitation carefully and submit
their proposals in strict accordance with the requirements set forth therein.
Any defect which may occur as the result of either faulty material or workmanship within
the period of one (1) year, or defects encountered during delivery, shall be corrected
without expense to the City of McMinnville.
By virtue of bidding, the bidders guarantee the prices quoted in the bid will remain firm for
the duration of 3 months from said time of bid opening.

INVITATION TO BID Transfer Station Steel Ejector
Closed Top Trailer
1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The City of McMinnville is soliciting sealed bids for the purchase of one (1) new or used 65
cubic yard closed-top ejector transfer trailer designed for use with an existing transfer station
compactor system.
The trailer shall be specifically engineered for municipal solid waste transfer operations and
capable of withstanding repeated compaction forces from a stationary hydraulic ram compactor.
Transfer trailers used in these systems must be reinforced due to the high pressures exerted
during loading.
Bidders should schedule site visit if they would like to inspect compactor which trailer will be
connected to. This can be scheduled with John Austin Assistant Director Public Works 931-271-

2. CAPACITY & DIMENSIONS
Minimum Capacity: 65 cubic yards
Body Length: Approx. 38’ – 42’

3. BODY CONSTRUCTION
Body Type: Closed-top ejector (push-out) transfer trailer
Material:
o Sides: Minimum 10-gauge high-strength steel
o Floor: Minimum 3/16" high tensile steel (50,000 PSI Minimum Yield)
o Roof: Fully enclosed, reinforced steel construction
Crossmembers:
o Structural steel crossmembers on 12” centers (minimum)
Side Posts:
o Reinforced posts on approx. 24” centers
Top Rail:
o Structural tube steel reinforcement
Body fully welded, leak-resistant construction
