ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed bids for the construction of the Curris Business Building Dry Cooler Replacement project at

the University of Northern Iowa will be received electronically through www.bidexpress.com by the

Iowa Board of Regents at the Office of Finance and Operations, 2401 Wisconsin Street, Lang Hall

Room 122, University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa 50614-0003 until 2:00 p.m. local Iowa

time, on January 13, 2026, and will then be publicly opened and read aloud through a Zoom Meeting.

The project consists of but is not limited to: replacing the existing dry cooler system on the roof to

include the dry cooler, pump package, expansion tank, and piping. A new dry cooler, pump package,

expansion tank, valves, and piping will be installed. New insulation with jacketing will be included.

Electrical work includes demolition of existing power distribution to old equipment and installing new

power to equipment. Dry cooler control wiring removal and replacement shall be included.

Bids will be received for a stipulated sum contract.

Iowa Construction Sales Tax Exemption Certificates will be provided on this project.

Bidding Documents may be obtained from Rapids Reproductions, Inc., 6201 Chancellor Drive, Cedar

Falls, IA 50613, 319-277-5538. No deposit will be required, but all bidders are asked to return their

Bidding Documents within fifteen (15) days after opening of bids.

Each bid shall be submitted electronically through the documents provided at www.bidexpress.com

with an uploaded copy of the bid security as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders.

Bid security shall be agreed upon as the measure of liquidated damages which Owner will sustain by

failure, neglect or refusal of bidder to deliver a signed contract stipulating performance of the work in

unqualified compliance with Contract Documents or furnish the required 100% Contract Performance

and Payment Bond within ten (10) days after receipt of Notice of Award.

No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) calendar days after the date of opening.

The Iowa Board of Regents seeks to provide opportunities for Targeted Small Businesses in

accordance with the provisions of Chapter 73 of the Code of Iowa. This project has a participation

goal for certified Targeted Small Businesses. The participation goal of 10% is specified in the Special

Conditions.

By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal

produced within the State of Iowa.

The Iowa Board of Regents reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities and to

accept that bid which is deemed in the best interest of the Owner.
