Description: Bid Posting Date: March 19, 2026 Project: Senior Center Apartments Remodel Unit 9 Contract Number: 2488 Bids Due: Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00pm local time on April 6, 2026 Pre-Bid Meeting: at 10AM on March 24, 2026 (Non-Mandatory) This project includes, but is not necessarily limited to: Remodel of apartment Unit 9 in the Valdez Senior Center. Work will include some activity in all rooms/closets of the unit. General notes: Removal/disposal of any remaining hooks/nails/screws in walls. Complete wall and ceiling repair/patching as needed. Temporary removal of blinds and curtains/rods for painting. Kitchen stove/refrigerator/microwave may be temporarily moved by contractor to in-building provided storage area and returned to the unit as appropriate to remodel completion. Subfloor renovations as needed for threshold compliance to meet 2010 ADA standards as described in Sections 303 & 404.2.5 Any questions regarding this project should be directed to Canyon Rohrer , project manager, Deadline for questions is March 31, 2026 at 2:00 PM Alaska Time Sealed bids will be accepted until 2pm local time on  April 6, 2026, at the following location within the Valdez Pioneer Airport: City of Valdez Capital Facilities Department 300 Airport Road Suite 201 PO Box 307 Valdez, AK 99686 Ph: (907) 835-5478 Fax: (907) 835-5574 The bids will be publicly opened and read at that time. Bid documents may also be downloaded from the links below. Bidders are encouraged to download, fill out, and return the Request for Addendum / Plan Holders List form located at the link listed below to ensure receipt of any addendum issued for this project. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid is required. The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in a bid and to reject any and all bids without cause. Current minimum prevailing wage rates as published by the Alaska Department of Labor must be paid if required by law. Requirements of the Alaska Employment Preference (AS 36.10) must be met. The City of Valdez encourages disadvantaged, minority and women-owned firms to respond and is available to assist said firms in learning how to do business with the City. The City of Valdez “ Standard Specifications and Standard Details ” shall be used.
