Description: Notice is hereby given that the City of Vermillion, South Dakota will receive, publicly open and read bids and proposals at City Hall located at 25 Center Street on the 12th day of February 2025, at 2:00 p.m. The bids will be acted upon by the City Council at City Hall located at 25 Center Street on the 18th day of February 2025, at 6:00 p.m. The materials and services required are as follows: CARR STREET CONSTRUCTION (DUKE TO BOWER) The major quantities for the base bid are 1 LS of Mobilization; 1 LS of Clearing; 36 SY of Remove Concrete Pavement; 234 FT of Remove Concrete Curb and/or Gutter; 155 FT of Saw Existing PCC Pavement; 3,765 CY of Unclassified Excavation; 100 CY of Unclassified Excavation, Digout; 1 LS of Incidental Work, Grading; 1 LS of Traffic Control, Miscellaneous; 12 EACH of Type 3 Barricade; 324 CY of Placing Contractor Furnished Topsoil; 183 LB of Type D Permanent Seed Mixture; 202 LB of Fertilizing; 1,220 LB of Fiber Mulching; 1 LS of Weed Control – Project; 20 HR of Sweeping; 1 EA of Concrete Washout Area; 2 EA of Sediment Control at Type B Inlet Protection; 1 EA of Adjust of Manholes and Covers; 1,244 TON of Base Course; 2,484 TON of Subbase; 3,685 SY of Reinforcement Fabric (MSE); 2,753 SY of 8” Nonreinforced PCC Pavement; 1,557 FT of Concrete Curb and Gutter; 7,757 SF of 4” Sidewalk; 80 SF of Type 1 Detectable Warnings; 36 SY of 8” Concrete Valley Gutter; 88 SY of 8” PCC Fillet Section; 2,016 EA of Dowell Bar; 84 EA of Insert Steel Bar in PCC Pavement; 60 FT of 8” Water Main; 2 EA of 8” Gate Valve & Box w/ Joint Restraints; 1 EA of 8”x8” MJ Tee w/ Joint Restraints; 1 EA of Fire Hydrant w/ Joint Restraints; 2 EA of Cut and Tie to Existing Water Main; 60 FT of Tracer Wire – Water. The major quantities for the alternate no. 1 bid are 1 LS of Mobilization (only for Soil Cement Stabilization); -1,140 CY of Unclassified Excavation; -423 TON of Base Course; -2,486 TON of Subbase; -3,685 SY of Reinforcement Fabric (MSE); 3,685 SY of Cement Stabilized Subgrade; 58 TON of Type I or II Cement. Copies of the specifications are available for review at the office of the City Engineer, 25 Center Street, Vermillion, South Dakota, 57069. Bid security is required according to state law and the bid specifications. Payment for the materials and services herein provided for will be in cash.
