The New York City Department of Correction (“DOC”) invites expressions of interest and Information from qualified firms that can provide a modern visitor fingerprint identification systems - Visitor Fingerprint Identification System (VFIS) capable of replacing DOC’s legacy central visits fingerprint platform, which supports inmate visitation operations across DOC facilities. This RFI is issued for informational and strategic planning purposes only. Information gathered will help guide the development of a future procurement, in accordance with the City of New York’s Procurement Policy Board Rules and Local Law 1 of 2013 The purpose of this RFI is to: Registers first-time visitors Captures and stores visitor biometric data (fingerprints and photos) Matches returning visitors against stored biometric records Supports high-volume throughput at multiple secure correctional facilities DOC reserves the right to consider information obtained from responses to this RFI to develop a Request for Proposals (RFP) that would achieve the City’s objectives. The City shall issue a subsequent RFP at its sole discretion, and any response to this RFI does not guarantee either such solicitation of an RFP or consideration for subsequent award.
