Test Title

Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. E.D.T. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Purchasing Office, City Hall, 135 E. Maumee Street, , , for the City of ’s annual chemical requirements. The list of chemicals and quantities needed is attached. Each bidder may bid on one or more of the items.

All chemicals must meet NSF Standards 60 for application to potable water.

All bid prices for chemicals are “as is”, there will be no price adjustments for shipments that may vary slightly in strength.

The City of reserves the right to award separate items.

All bids must be submitted on the attached form.

All bids shall be firm for the period beginning July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027. Any deviation from this must be noted.

No contract shall be made with any person, firm or corporation in default of the city.

All bids must be F.O.B. Adrian, Michigan.

The City of Adrian reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities.

All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked on the outside, "Sealed Bid – Chemicals.”

1. Ferric Sulfate Liquid -50% Fe2SO4.

Used for organic removal

Must meet ANSI/AWWA B406-06 standard.

2. Phosphate – Liquid Material will be a blended Polyphosphate/Orthophosphate (75/25).

3. Liquid Carbon Dioxide

Used for pH control.

Liquid Carbon Dioxide shall comply with AWWA B510-06. Solution shall contain at least 99.5% CO2 by weight, no more than 10 ppm non-volatile residues, contain no soluble inorganic or organic substances in quantities capable of producing injurious health effects on those consuming the water treated and shall not have a water content exceeding 200 ppm at the time of delivery.

Delivery will be in bulk shipments of liquid CO2.

4. Powdered Activated Carbon

Used for taste and odor control

Estimated annual requirement is 15 – 20 tons. Bulk shipment of 5 tons.

Must meet ANSI/AWWA Standard B600-16.

Delivery will be one bulk shipment of 2,000 gallons.

Solution shall contain 20% Sodium Permanganate.

Must meet ANSI/AWWA Standard B603-03.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

1. The bidder shall fill out all portions of the proposal that are applicable.

2. In submitting the above bid, it is understood that the City of reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities.

3. Any deviations from specifications shall be noted on a separate sheet attached to the bid form.

4. All bids to be F.O.B. Adrian, Michigan.

5. The City of will not honor any container fee.

6. Bidders must submit MSDS sheets on products being bid.

7. Chemicals must meet NSF Standard 60.

8. The bidder must be the manufacturer of the chemical.

9. All deliveries must include certified weight certificates and a Certification of Analysis.

I certify that the above chemicals to be supplied by my company meet Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Specifications 325.12102 for water treatment chemicals, including NSF Standard 60.
