PURCHASING DIVISIONCharlotte County Administration Center18500 Murdock Circle, Suite 344Port Charlotte, Florida 33948-1094Phone 941.743.1378Fax 941.743.1384TO: PROSPECTIVE PROPOSERSDATE: June 1, 2026PROPOSAL DUE DATE: 3:00 p.m. (EST), JUNE 9, 2026RE: ADDENDUM #2, RFP NO. 20260423, WATER ELEVATION MONITORING SERVICES – ANNUALCONTRACTFirms are hereby notified that this addendum shall be made a part of the above-named proposal and contractdocuments. The following are issued to revise/clarify the proposal and contract documents, and these items shallhave the same force and effect as the original proposal and contract documents. Proposals to be submitted onthe above-specified date at Purchasing shall conform to the revisions and clarifications as listed herein.ITEM # 1- QUESTIONS/ANSWERSQ1: The RFP specifies that some stations will need cellular communications, and some will needsatellite because they are remote. The cost difference between cellular and satellite can besignificant across many stations. Is there an estimated number of stations that are remote enoughto require satellite communications?A1: To our knowledge, none of the proposed stations will require satellite communications for day-to-daymonitoring. That said, certain locations may be considered high priority for storm event monitoring andthus would benefit from satellite communications capabilities in the event regional cellularcommunications are interrupted. It is anticipated that the vast majority of the stations will rely exclusivelyon cellular communications, with a select few coastal monitoring sites utilizing satellite if such option isavailable.Q2: Is there a future plan to add additional sensors to these stations? Sensors could includemeteorological parameters (air temperature, pressure, relative humidity, precipitation, windvelocity), flow sensors, and/or water quality sensors (temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, chlorophyll, blue-green algae, etc.)A2: There are no immediate plans to add more sensors to these stations, although the desire to do somay arise in the future, as need is determined and financial resources allow. That said, the ability tosupport multiple other types of sensors is not a baseline requirement for this RFP.This addendum is binding and is to be considered as if contained within the original proposal documents of RFPNo. 20260423. Firms are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum on their proposal forms.Kimberly A.
