NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLICIT CONSTRUCTION BIDS

GREEN LINE OMF LRV STORAGE BARN

Contract number 25P196

The Metropolitan Council intends to solicit sealed bids for the construction of the Metro Transit

Green Line OMF LRV Storage Barn project located behind the existing Metro Transit OMF

facility at 340 North Broadway Avenue in St. Paul, Minnesota. The storage barn will supplement

the existing light rail vehicle storage at the existing OMF.

The Invitation for Bids is anticipated to be issued in January 2026. Please check this site again

for updated information. When the IFB is issued, this informational notice will be replaced with a

formal notice containing detailed project and schedule information and instructions for

accessing the bidding documents. Interested parties may also sign up for email alerts when

page content is updated on the Council’s Contracting Opportunities Page.

The work of this project includes the construction of a 40,590SF storage barn which will store

18 LRVs. The project will also include the construction of an additional 40 employee parking

spaces, a traction power substation, signal bungalow, a dedicated Xcel feed, tracks, OCS,

fencing, plumbing, HVAC, retention basins, and security.
