Scope of Services SECO Energy is soliciting proposals from qualified certified public accounting firms to perform an independent financial audit of the Cooperative’s financial statements for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2026.
The audit will be conducted in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS), Government Audit Standards and the guidelines of all applicable State, Federal and funding authority.

Sumter Electric Cooperative, also known as SECO Energy, is a not-for-profit, member-owned electric utility. With over 250K active accounts (70/30 residential/commercial split), SECO Energy is the third largest electric cooperative in Florida and the seventh largest in the entire United States. The service territory area is approximately 2,000 square miles. SECO Energy is a member-focused utility which has high expectations for all its various contracted services.
Annual audits are required to ensure financial transparency and regulatory compliance.
