For instance, an increase inhours, a change in guard type (e.g., armed vs unarmed), a need for additional resources?ANSWER: No.11. What was the amount spent on this contract last year?ANSWER: Please submit a PRA request to the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools IntergovernmentalRelations Department to obtain a copy.12. What is the estimated total number of annual hours for this contract?ANSWER: The estimated total hours for all sites combined is approximately 13,000 per year, though this may varydepending on the specific needs of each individual site.13. What is the current bill rate for each position?ANSWER: Please submit a PRA request to the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools IntergovernmentalRelations Department to obtain a copy.14. Are there any additional services that may be needed that are not listed in the RFP? For instance, the need foradditional sites, seasonal required security, etc.ANSWER: Services shall include regularly scheduled daily coverage, on-call support, and occasional special eventassignments. Additional sites may be added to this contract, as needed, through a mutually agreed-upon and fullyexecuted amendment between the SUPERINTENDENT and the VENDOR.15. Beyond the state and federal minimum wage, is there a prevailing wage, living wage ordinance, local mandatedwage, or contract-specific wage?ANSWER: No.Page 2 of 416. Is the current contract using vehicles? If yes, how many?ANSWER: No.17. Will your agency hold a public opening? If yes, can you please provide the date, time, and location?ANSWER: There will be no public opening for RFPs. Proposals will be evaluated based on the criteria outlined in theProposal Content Requirements section.18. Is there security coverage needed during the summer?ANSWER: Yes, for the Roy C. Hill Education Center.19. Can you confirm that this requirement is needed under 3.4 minimum qualifications: “Have satisfactorily completeda California P.O.S.T. (Peace Officer Standards and Training) Level III-approved basic training program.” According tohttps://post.ca.gov/peace-officer-basic-training The POST-certified Regular Basic Course (basic academy) is thetraining standard for police officers, deputy sheriffs, school district police officers, district attorney investigators, as wellas a few other classifications of peace officers. The basic academy is both physically and mentally challenging. Itincludes a minimum of 664 hours of POST-developed training and testing in 42 separate areas of instruction calledLearning Domains. Most POST-certified basic training academies exceed the 664 hour minimum by 200 or more hourswith some academies presenting over 1000 hours of training and testing.ANSWER: Neither the P.O.S.T Basic Academy nor PC832 are required for unarmed positions. The P.O.S.T. (PeaceOfficer Standards and Training) Level III requirement was requested in error. The awarded security officers only needa guard card and SB390 certification to work in a K–12 school district (SBCSS). Security officers or security guardsworking more than 20 hours must complete the 20 hours of SB390 (formally SB 1626, EC 7583.45).SB 390, Umberg. School safety: school security officers and security guards.“Under existing law, every school security officer employed by a school district or community college district, and every securityguard working on the property of a school district or community college district pursuant to a contract with a private licensedsecurity agency, who works more than 20 hours a week as a school security officer or security guard is required to complete acourse of training developed by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services of the Department of Consumer Affairs inconsultation with the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.”20. Will any security services be required at the Apple Valley County Education Center?ANSWER: Yes. Security services will be required at the Apple Valley County Education Center, now known as theVision Alternative Learning Academy, located at 12555 Navajo Dr., Apple Valley, CA 92308.Page 3 of 421. Is Vision Community School still scheduled to close in August 2026? If so, will the students be transferred to anotherlocation, and will security services need to be increased at that site?ANSWER: Yes, as stated in the SPECIFICATIONS section, Vision Community School will permanently close in August2026. Additional security will not be needed at relocated sites.22. Can you please confirm the address for the Yucca Valley Community School?ANSWER: The address listed for the Yucca Valley Community School in the RFP was entered incorrectly. The addressprovided reflects the former location and is no longer in use. The correct address is 58945 Business Center Dr., Suite A,Yucca Valley, CA 92284.Page 4 of 4
