Description: Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health (BBPH) is seeking proposals for a qualified physician to serve as the Local Health Officer for the City of Bismarck and Burleigh County pursuant to NDCC Chapter 23-35 and Bismarck City Ordinance Title 8 (Health and Sanitation). In accordance with North Dakota Century Code (NDCC 23-35-12) , a Local Health Officer shall serve a five-year statutory term. The appointment for this cycle will cover the period January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2030. The Health Officer is appointed by the Bismarck City Commission and the Board of Health. While the statutory appointment carries a five-year term, professional services and compensation will be governed by a separate contract that may be renewed annually and will specify the term, compensation, and termination provisions.
